Talks
Nightscout - How Free Software Simplifies Life for Diabetics
When thousands of non-technical people help each other on social media to compile code and set up software on a virtual machine, it shows that the topic is important to people. I invite you to a talk dedicated to the Nightscout and AndroidAPS ecosystem, solutions that allow people with diabetes to create an electronic "artificial pancreas." We will explore this world from the inside, answer the question of why they care so much about controlling the device, why this is the only sensible way to operate, why medical certifications do not keep up with patients' needs, and how we can support them.
ActivityPub in Practice: Discover the Heart of the Fediverse
When talking about the sovereignity of the social media it's hard to omit the existence of the Fediverse. During the workshops, we will learn the concepts of fediverse, look at few working examples and delve into the ActivityPub protocol which is responsible for all the magic involved. At the end of the workshops we will have a minimal software capable of communication with the rest of the world.
likec4 - Architecture as Code Workshop
During the workshop, we will explore the likec4 ecosystem (https://likec4.dev/) - Architecture-as-a-Code tools for describing architecture and visualizing it as shared, interactive documentation through diagrams or presentations. For the workshop, we need a development environment with Visual Studio Code with the likec4 plugin, git, docker, python interpreter; advanced users will manage with any text editor and an environment capable of running OCI containers.
Signing and Verifying OCI Container Image Signatures
In this talk, I will share my experiences with container image signatures, from the process of creating and signing them to the mechanisms for automatic verification. We will explore the technologies and tools used for this purpose, see what is commonly used in open source projects, and discuss how it can be applied in our work.
